The side effects which one experiences from vaping is a topic that is rarely discussed as such occurrences are probably quite limited. But we at Hacking Vapor, and a few of our close friends, did at one time or another experience some minor side effects from vaping—such as chest pains, headaches, and other related symptoms. But thankfully, simply switching to a different brand or flavor e-liquid quickly fixed any issues that we were experiencing.
The flavorings used in e-liquids are now being heavily researched due to ongoing concerns that these products might contain harmful ingredients. These warranted assumptions are influencing retailers such as VaporShark, to perform independent studies on a variety of different e-liquids; and more importantly, making these results available free of charge. The tests that were completed are specifically searching for two substances, Diacetyl and Acetyl Propionyl, both of which are known to cause serious, respiratory issues.
But the question that still remains is, are there other potentially harmful ingredients being added to these flavorings? This is a question that would be nearly impossible to answer due to the variety of e-liquids that are available. The solution to truly suffice these ongoing concerns would be a real regulatory agency that can monitor e-liquid manufacturing, and ensure that these liquids are produced in a correct manner.
Although, having a regulatory body—such as the one described—will definitely take sometime. That being said, the best one can do at the moment is to complete their due-diligence by researching e-liquid before purchasing, and then, monitor themselves for any negative signs or symptoms while consuming.
